Does this match what you see?
The launcher shows one of these messages:
- "Can't reach the official Ragnarok Online 3 download servers."
- "Only an older game release is reachable from your network, and it doesn't work with Sol RO3."
- "A game package could not be downloaded."
Or the download sits at the same percentage for several minutes.
Why it happens
The game files come from the publisher's own servers, not from Sol RO3 (we may not host them). Today only one of those servers still holds the current game, and it is in São Paulo, Brazil. Some internet providers have a poor route to it, or none. Cloudflare WARP sends your connection a different way, which usually gets through.
Fix: turn on Cloudflare WARP
WARP is Cloudflare's free app, also called 1.1.1.1. You don't need an account.
- Go to one.one.one.one and download the app for Windows.
- Install it and open it. Accept the terms when it asks.
- Click the big switch so it says Connected. If the app offers a choice of mode, pick WARP, not "1.1.1.1" on its own (that one only changes DNS and won't help).
- Go back to the Sol RO3 Launcher and press Retry (or Install). A download that stopped carries on from where it was; nothing is lost.
- When the download has finished, you can switch WARP off again. You don't need it to play.
Later game updates: if a game update gets stuck the same way, switch WARP on, update, then switch it off.
Other things to try
- Any VPN works too. If you already use one, connect to a server in the United States and press Retry.
- Try again later. Sometimes the publisher's server is simply busy or down for a while.
- Check the free space. The game needs about 24 GB on the drive you install to. The launcher tells you if a drive is too full; choose another folder in Settings.
- Close other big downloads while the game downloads.
Still stuck?
The launcher writes a log of every download attempt. Send it to us and we'll see where it fails:
- Press Windows + R, paste
%LOCALAPPDATA%\RO3Emuand press Enter. - Find the file
download.login the folder that opens. - Post it in #help on the Discord, and say whether you tried WARP.
